Inflatable belt systems
Inflatable restraint systems are a good solution for reducing head and neck impact and forces in forward and sideward arranged seating positions in crash situations. Sideward directed seats require special belt systems. The application of Inflatabelt™ and SMART™ enables us to provide pre-configured systems or develop integration solutions. Both restraint systems are protected by patents.

Inflatabelt
The Inflatabelt™ is an inflatable two-point belt system for application on forward directed seats. An airbag is inflated out of the sheathing of the pelvic restraint and provides a pillow of protection between the upper body and the thighs. The belt is additionally tightened. In the case of a crash, both effects minimise the forward displacement of the occupant and reduce or prevent injuries. In addition to the belt, a gas generator and a sensor are also integral parts of the restraint system.

SMART-Belt
The SMART-Belt is a diagonally running shoulder belt, which is equipped with an airbag. This arrangement is especially intended for application in sideward directed seats and should reduce head and neck impact and forces and prevent injuries. The inflatable SMART-Belt supports the head and prevents excessive acceleration motions. This helps to keep the limiting value of forces to the neck within bearable boundaries. Depending on the respective design, the SMART-Belt can also provide an additional effect as a belt tightener.
